USA Table Tennis Champions : ウィキペディア英語版 | USA Table Tennis Champions USA Table Tennis (USATT) is the national governing body for table tennis in the United States. In addition to its other functions as the national governing body for table tennis, the USATT holds two major tournaments each year—U.S. Open and U.S. Nationals. In addition to the championship events, both of these two major tournaments have numerous events that are age and ratings limited. These tournaments typically attract between six to seven hundred participants for the various events that are held over four days. ==U.S. Open== The annual U.S. Open is the oldest currently running table tennis tournament in the U.S., dating back to the early days when the sport began to be played seriously. The first events listed here were actually run by either the New York Table Tennis Club or the American Ping Pong Association. The first USTTA 〔Since late 1993, the USTTA has been "doing business as" USA Table Tennis or USATT. But the legal and original name of the organization is the United States Table Tennis Association, Inc. or USTTA〕 tournament was held in 1934. The U.S. Open is held in various cities throughout the United States with the next (2014) tournament being held in Grand Rapids, MI. Due to its international nature, most events are played under ITTF rules and at times the tournament has been included as an ITTF Pro Tour / World Tour event.
